Semiconductor lead-time pressure: read the percentage correctly.
ECIA’s September 2026 Industry Pulse survey, released on 4 October, found that 77% of respondents reported increasing semiconductor lead-time pressure, compared with 72% in August.
That is a rise of 5 percentage points in the share of respondents — it does not mean delivery times increased by 77%.
The survey is a useful market signal. For a purchasing decision, check the exact part number, quantity and required delivery date. ECIA also flagged unusually low manufacturer participation, a limitation to bear in mind when interpreting the wider survey.
